IT'S A REVOLUTION, I SUPPOSE

This is it, the countdown has officially begun. 7 days till I pack up and leave the place that has been my home for the past three and a half years (well, we're already packed). It seems crazy and not so long ago I was starting high school here, thinking I’d graduate with the people I’m leaving behind now. I guess that’s one of the few downsides of an international school; people part ways in the most unexpected times. And this time calls for lasts: last spontaneous adventures, last parties (really going for it this week and attending not one but three), last exams (tomorrow) and last ventures to the park with my committed photographer and best friend Jennifer.  And although it’s hard to think about the end being so close I have to hold in my desired cathartic cry and be realistic for at least a few more days that call for being extremely organized. I have a week of packing, studying and goodbyes before I head out into the exciting future that’s waiting for me back where I came from all those years ago.

Surprisingly, this weather is very hard to come across in Belgium, even in May. In fact, this month has been the opposite of a spring season; I can't remember a day without rain (I even had to switch out my coats *sigh*) and I'm pretty sure there is a virus going around the school because a couple people, including myself, have been out with a runny nose, headaches, coughing and whatnot. Imagine my relief when, after three days of recovery and after a depressing couple of days, the sun finally came out.

The weeks leading up to my big move have been extremely stressful. I've been facing a lot of choices and recently I made a decision about leaving my home in Belgium forever the evening after our last day of school which I was trying to postpone as much as I could but I couldn't really help it because exams to my dream school are taking place the next morning and then there is no point in going back. Besides, I've had to clear out every corner of my room, leaving my bookshelf and closet almost completely empty. I've been saving up money for months to go on a huge shopping spree and I've already placed some exciting orders from Nastygal and Topshop which I'm really looking forward to getting in a couple of weeks so I can finally fill up that empty closet of mine. So far, I'm stuck with a little bit over 10 t-shirts and some pants. I'm thinking of setting up a clothing rack with my more "exciting" pieces which will make dressing up in the morning easier... (This has very quickly turned into a stream of consciousness, I just had so much to share.)

I can't believe I'm (almost) fifteen  and these shoes are only my first pair of heels I've ever owned. They look absolutely perfect but walking in them has been very challenging so far. It sounds ridiculous because they're not even that tall but I spent the whole weekend walking around the house in them, training myself to walk like a normal human being without slouching. It's work in progress but the pain is worth it. They're the perfect pair of cut-out boots I've been hunting for since March and I'm so happy to finally have found them. 

Nie mogę uwierzyć, że mam (prawie) piętnaście lat i te buty to tylko moja pierwsza para obcasow, jakie kiedykolwiek mialam. Wyglądają absolutnie idealne, ale chodzenie w nich okazalo sie bardzo trudne. Brzmi to smiesznie poniewaz nie sa az tak wysokie, ale spędziłam cały weekend chodzac w nich po domu, cwiczac chodzeniejak normalny człowiek bez garbienia sie. Sprawia mi to ogrowny trud, ale bol jest calkowiecie tego warty. Są idealna parą wyciętych butow, na ktore polowalam od marca i jestem tak szczęśliwa, że w końcu je znalazłam.

I sincerely apologize for having been absent for the entire month of March. I won't make any excuses- I've just been lazy. Now that I'm starting to notice that I have a few regular readers (please keep leaving me those lovely comments, they really do make my day) I need to start being more consistent. I've just flooded the blog with a few overdue posts that I've had been meaning to publish this month but I haven't gotten around to it, so forgive me for cheating and changing up the dates- I like to pretend I'm consistent and organized, just so the blog looks neat. If you don't mind me being completely erratic enjoy catching up :)

Szczerze przepraszam za moją nieobecnosć podczas całego marca. Nie będę się usprawiedliwiać- jestem bo prostu czołwiekiem leniwym. Zaczynam zauważać kilku regularnych czytelników (proszę, nie wahajcie sie zostawiać mi komentarzy, które naprawdę sprawiają mi ogromną radosć) wiec dla nich muszę stać sie bardziej konsekwentna. Wlasnie zalałam tego bloga zaległymi postami, które miałam zamiar wstawić w tym miesiacu, ale nie mogłam sie ogarnać, wiec wybaczcie za oszukiwanie i zmienianie dat- lubię udawać, że jestem zorganizowana i konsekwentna, żeby mój blog wyglądał czysto. Those of you who have older sisters will know what I'm talking about when I say that spring cleaning is definitely a fun time. Two weeks ago my sister put three giant bags of her old clothes in front of me and said "Dig in." Of course, most of these things were too small, too worn out or just out of style, but I did find a few amazing things. We both bought this skirt a few years ago, back when I was the annoying little sister and I needed to get the exact same skirt. Sometime throughout the years mine ended up in her closet and hers in mine. Long story short, I was happy to find my skirt in her giveaway pile because it's a bit bigger and more comfortable to wear.

As soon as the spring began and the sun came out I switched my heavy UGGs for lighter shoes like these oxfords that have been hiding in my closet since September. Today was a beautiful and sunny day so a few of my friends and I went to the playground near my house (which will forever be our favorite photoshoot destination).

I've been a faithful proponent of Zara jeans since I could fit into my beloved Zara Kids up to this day. In fact, I don't remember owning a pair of jeans that wasn't from Zara until now. These high-waisted black jeans have been on my wishlist for god knows how long. I found them two weeks ago and i must say spending 55 euro on them was absolutely worth it. They fit like a glove, they're super comfortable and they really elongate my legs.

I just realized that as soon as it started snowing i threw on my tights and I've been wearing skirts almost every day. I have to say it's not a smart choice since, even though the rain melted almost all the snow today, it's been extremely cold. The temperature stays very much the same.. so I froze taking those pictures today.
