YOU CAN BLOW WHAT'S LEFT OF MY RIGHT MIND

While my parents were away in Sopot to see their friends and to attend a few parties, I had to stay with my best friend for a few days. I haven't' left the house for 48 hours because we were both sick but watching tons of movies including High School Musical 3 was worth it. Surprisingly  after seeing it four years ago for the last time I still remember most the words to the songs... I guess we always remain young in some way. I most definitely am, judging by the way I'm spending my new Year's Eve compared to all of my friends who are going out and getting drunk. I'm probably just staying in with a couple of friends just watching movies and eating, nothing special, which I will tell you more about when i wake up in 2013!

P.S. I got these new AMAZING shoes which i love with all my heart. They are comfortable and pretty and just uh. Also, they're so versatile; I can think of a billion things to pair them up with.

IT'S ALWAYS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN

I arrived in Poland today wearing a skirt and tights while it was -11 degrees outside. I had three pairs of tights on so it wouldn't be that bad if the buses didn't decide  not to show up  at the bus stop so my friend and i didn't have to wait in the freezing cold for 30 minutes. Luckily  we were so desperate  after a half hour that we screamed at a bus driver who's stop wasn't where we were standing but he stopped and drove us back home (well, not quite, we still had to walk for another 20 minutes) but I have learned my lesson- right now I'm laying  in bed with a massive headache from my sinuses, with a runny nose  and a very irritating cough and I'm nowhere near recovering while Christmas is right around the corner.

CHINCHILLY

This is just a quick snapshot of my nails this week. I bough some beautiful Essie nail polishes (I've been looking for a store that sells them for quite a while now) and I tried out this colour called "Chinchilly" and even though It's  very lovely colour I'm still not close enough to the shade i was aiming for (i wanted "Miss Fancy Pants" which has a hint of purple to it but they didn't have it in the store). The brush is amazing, the polish comes right on and covers the whole nail and the colour selection is very wide.

CHRISTMAS WISHLIST

For me Christmas is a beautiful holiday when family members get to sit down together at a dinner table, when we get to make our close ones happy with the gifts we find for them. Personally, I LOVE getting gifts for my family and friends; It's a lot of fun and when they open the gift it always warms my heart that I've found something for them that they like. I love figuring out what's on their wishlist (in my family we never make wishlists or tell each other specifically what e want, we always try to guess what the other people would like-which can be hard at times- but it allows us to think about the person we're getting the gift for). But let's be honest- we all love getting gifts too. I know I do. Here are some items that are on my wishlist this year:

From top left:
1. Zara Frilled Leather Jacket (or just any simple black leather jacket)
2. Madewell Blue Sequin Pants
3. ALDO Red Skimmers
4. UGG Australia Classic Mini in Chestnut
5. ASOS Black Shorts with Braces
6. Urban Outfitters Black Studded Sweatshirt
7. Zara Green Checked Shirt
8. Marc by Marc Jacobs Blade Watch in Gold
9. Zara Gold Sequin Shorts

If you want, check out the rest of the items I wouldn't mind having in my closet on my fashiolista profile.

NEW CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICKS

First Impression: Oh my lord, it's too... moist. I guess I expected it to be more of a lipstick that moisturizes your lips. Smart Mia didn't read the packaging which clearly said: moisturizing lip colour balm... So at first I was disappointed because it was not what I expected. But then  started using it. I'm in love now. It does moisturize my lips which is good because  love lip balms and I like the application of this one better than my favorite lip balms from Body Shop which you have to apply with your finger. The colour is very lovely too. I got it in Shade 05 Chunky Cherry.

I WANNA MAKE YOU FEEL ALIVE AT NIGHT

I came back form Poland a couple of hours ago. My mom promised me I could go visit every month so every time I'm there, I try to do as much with as many people as I can. I went out with my girls last night, we went to see Hamlet in the theater and even though it was four hours long it was absolutely worth it. I also saw my other best friend who took these pictures for me in an empty swimming pool in their fitness (yes, they have one in their house).

The lip crayon that I'm wearing is my new favorite; it's Inglot's # 33. It makes your lips look like they're stained with blueberries. This is very irrelevant, but it reminds me of when I was little, in the summer, we went to a little house in the middle of the forest with my sisters and my mom. We went kayaking and swimming in the lake, and one of the pictures from that summer is when all three of us sat by the water after having eaten blueberries.

OBSESSED WITH LANA DEL REY

Image from Tumblr.
I have a weird obsession with lyrics, those that sound like poems. The artists that i admire are the ones whose music, image and fans make their fandom seem very intimate. I hate when the bands/artist I love go mainstream, because i always find artists at the beginning their career, whose name means almost nothing in the music industry and then I just watch them grow big. It feels like I've been with them all that time. The very few artists who have achieved that with their lyrics and image are Florence Welch, Sky Ferreira and of course, the amazing Lana Del Rey. Her songs are beautiful poems and even though she's a tad crazy, that adds to her image which I am completely in love with. Here are my top 4 favorite songs by Lana. Enjoy <3

I LEFT MY PHONE IN THE CAB

Our school is hosting the volleyball ISSTs, a tournament between all International schools and I've been missing class for the past two days to watch my school play so I've been hearing  pump up music all day long so now Im addicted to it even outside of the arena. One of my favorites is "Blackout" by Breathe Carolina

OBSESSED WITH LOAFERS/SKIMMERS

Loafers just seem to be the most comfortable thing and they're really casual and go with so many things. I'm really craving 3 types of those right now.

1) Leopard Print

I'm torn between those two pairs. The first pair from ALDO are the cutest skimmers ever. I love the pointy toe and the print is really cute. They're cheaper than the second pair- about 20 euros. But loafers are loafers. I saw the second pair in Zara and fell in love. I can think of so many outfits for which the loafer would work better than the skimmer. However, it's too expensive for my teen budget and the print is not exactly what i wanted, so I would rather buy the skimmers.

2) Basic Black

The first pair from ALDO is the perfectly shaped skimmer, just a dream. It's semi elegant so it would go with a dress as well and I'm sick and tired of my Ecco black flats which are completely worn out. The second one from Urban Outfitters is so amazing. The metal cap adds a bit of an edge so I'm loving it. I really want a basic black skimmer or a loafer but the decision is so hard because both are amazing and I just don't have enough money for that kind of luxury, so if I had to pick just one pair I would get the loafers.

3) Glitter

Oh, how I love those blue glitter sneakers! They're from Urban Outfitters and they're so beautiful and just perfect. But, they're too expensive and I don't have that much blue stuff. The loafers from Zara are really cheap (40 euro) and they have them in my size but if they had them in blue I wouldn't hesitate for a minute. I'd get the blue sneakers though.

INTRODUCTION TO UNDERSTANDING MY BLOG (+OOTD)

Welcome, My name is Mia. Although I might not seem like it, I'm 14 years old. I spend far more time than I should reading blogs, articles on teenvogue.com, browsing past collections by my favorite designers and I sped too much money on Teen Vogue and clothes. I like to take fashion risks like mixing patterns or colours that are unlike to go together. However, I am scared of what the people around me will think of my outfits. So I invite you my dear reader, to critique me but also to be inspired by my blog.

WHY DID I CREATE THIS BLOG?

FITTING IN vs. STICKING OUT

Everyone has an inner desire to either stick out and to fit in. We all want to be perceived as the normal ones, but at the same time we want to be noticed for what we do or what we say. It's really hard to balance out those two desires.  There is a really thin line between "eccentric" and "plain weird" and some of us feel like we must be very careful not to cross that line.
This balance also applies to fashion. In the serious fashion industry taking risks with your style is highly appreciated. But what if you're just a teenager- like me- who wants to be like the rest but wants to stay true to their passion?

So to answer the question Why did i create this blog? I think my style is a bit more eccentric than others. I might be too scared of people's reaction when they see me, let's say, dressed head-to-toe in leather or wearing bright lipstick to school so I rarely take risks during school days. But i know from experience (being a faithful followed of We Wore What or Framboise Fashion) that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate those who express themselves through fashion. This blog is my device to share my passion with the world and hopefully one day i  will have some amazing followers who will be inspired by what i post and i will be inspired by their support to break out of my shell and keep taking those risks.

So stick around! x Mia
